Friends Media24 ("we," "our," or "us") developed the QR & Barcode Scanner app as a free application. This page informs users regarding our policies on data collection, usage, and disclosure.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect or store any personal data on external servers. Any information entered by users, such as email or date of birth for QR code generation, is stored locally on the device using SQLite and is not shared with us or any third party.

2. Permissions We Use

To provide full functionality, the app requires the following permissions:

  • Camera Access (android.permission.CAMERA) – Required to scan QR codes and barcodes.
  • Storage Access (android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE– Needed to save and retrieve generated QR codes.
  • Vibration Access (android.permission.VIBRATE) – Used for haptic feedback when scanning codes.
  • Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET) – Required for loading advertisements through AdMob. This permission is only used to serve ads and does not collect or transmit user data externally.

These permissions are only used for core functionality and do not involve external data collection.

3. Third-Party Services

Our app uses third-party services that may collect data to improve their functionality:

  • Google Play Services – Required for app performance and security.
  • AdMob – Used to display advertisements, which may collect user data as per Google’s policies.

4. Children's Privacy

While our app is not specifically designed for children under 13, it does not contain harmful content. We do not knowingly collect or store any personal data from children.

5. Data Security & Retention

Since all generated and scanned data remains on the user’s device, we do not have access to it, nor do we store any information externally. Users have full control over their data.

6. User Rights

As we do not store any user data externally, there is no need for account deletion or data removal requests. Users can simply uninstall the app to remove all stored data.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our Google Play Store listing. Users are encouraged to check the policy periodically for updates.
